RIDGECREST, CA – Dr. Josef Mamaliger, a leading Ridgecrest cosmetic dentist, has implemented a 3D scanner that allows him to take accurate impressions without goopy material.
True Definition 3D impression scanner, made by company 3M, is a handheld device that allows Dr. Mamaliger to comfortably scan patients’ teeth and then immediately view the scan on a computer. The digital impressions can be immediately sent to a laboratory for fabrication.
“Patients love the addition of the 3D scans because it eliminates the need for goopy impressions, which often taste horrible and can trigger a gag reflex,” Dr. Mamaliger said. “With the new device, we can scan the teeth without discomfort or ill-tasting impression material.”
The True Definition 3D impression scanner is unique in that it uses 3D-motion technology to capture images of patients’ teeth and oral cavities.
Dr. Mamaliger said with True Definition 3D impression scanner, crowns can be milled from solid material instead of being built by layers, making the restoration stronger and offering a better fit. The patients can also complete their treatment in fewer visits, and because the impression is sent digitally to a laboratory, patients are seeing a faster turnaround for their permanent restorations.
“We’re always looking at ways to add convenience and comfort, and the True Definition 3D impression scanner allows us to do just that,” Dr. Mamaliger said.
Dr. Mamaliger offers crowns, bridges, teeth-whitening treatments, prepless veneers and durable dental implants. Dental implants are used to replace individual missing teeth or to replace entire arches of teeth. Dental implants give patients about 90 percent of the chewing force they had with their natural teeth. Dr. Mamaliger uses dental implants to replace individual missing teeth or stabilize dentures. Dental implants have become popular options for patients with removable dentures because the implants stabilize oral devices and prevent any future jawbone deterioration.
In addition to life-changing implant dentistry, Dr. Mamaliger provides prepless veneers that can transform a patient’s smile instantly. No-prep veneers are unique because they do not require any drilling or removal of tooth enamel. To place the veneers, Dr. Mamaliger will simply bond the composite veneer over the tooth without any discomfort to the patient.
Dr. Mamaliger was born in Russia and immigrated to Israel as a child. He earned his dental degree in Israel and then served in the Israeli Air Force for five years. Dr. Mamaliger trained with some of the best specialists in Israel before moving to the United States, where he completed his boards in 1990. He started his Ridgecrest dental office in 2007.
The Dentist House uses the latest technology like a CT cone beam scanner to diagnose and treat its patients, from preventive dentistry to planning dental implants and diagnosing sleep apnea. Dr. Mamaliger offers a five-year warranty on all of his work.
